Interests and Hobbies

I love to stay active through hiking, paddleboarding, running, and ultimate frisbee. I work on several side-projects in the youth changemaking world, and I also like to read and write, especially about climate, ethics and altruism, psychology and neuroscience, and math.

Brief Biography

I was raised in Rochester, NY along with a twin sister and dozens of cousins, aunts, and uncles. My childhood was one long, large family reunion. I spent my time playing any sport I could, traveling for service projects with a youth group, lifeguarding or coaching in the summers, and loving every subject in school. My twin and I then headed together to Hamilton College where we spent most of our time co-captaining the frisbee teams for three years. (We did head our separate ways academically at least: I studied math and conducted science research and she studied psychology.)

I started my career as an educator in an AmeriCorps program in Chicago, working with a first-gen college access program. My heart called me back to my family roots in New England, where I helped grow an ed. tech. start-up, taught and coached for three years at an independent school, and completed my M.A. at Harvard. Along the way I kept busy by hiking all the peaks of the White Mountains, starting a podcast, leading workshops and retreats in the effective altruism movement, and launching a global youth changemakers project incubator. I eventually serendipitously found VCS by asking ChatGPT about amazing schools in New England where I could continue my journey as a teacher. I am thrilled to now make this community and Vermont home!
