Beginning our 26th year at Vermont Commons School!

On August 26th, our faculty celebrated the start of the new school year reflecting on years past and sharing excitement for a year filled with kindness and fun. Before the first day, we welcomed new students and their families to campus, prepared our classrooms, and made final touches to curriculum for the semester ahead. The real fun began on Wednesday, August 31st spread across the local area on grade level retreats. Community building is the top priority of our initial days together and no better way than to enjoy being outside on a couple of beautiful summer days. Shelburne Farms, North Beach, Stowe Pinnacle, and many other locations served as great hosts to our students and faculty on day 1. Once we were back on campus, we enjoyed games and activities while learning different parts of the VCS culture, schedule, and community!

Classes are now in full swing and we are all starting to settle in to the school year. It won’t be long before school projects are on display throughout the school, Clubs begin to meet, and Volleyball and Cross Country teams are reporting back on games and matches! In fact, our Girls Varsity and JV Volleyball team had their first match yesterday! We are excited for everything that this new year will bring and thrilled to have such a great group of people along for the ride.

We’re off to the races, Flying Turtles! Let’s have a great year!
