Simon Rosenbaum, National Merit Semifinalist

We are honored to have Simon Rosenbaum, class of 2022, recognized as a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist.

National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. 32 of these academically talented high school students hail from the state of Vermont. National Merit Scholars have the opportunity to compete for National Merit Scholarships worth about $30 million offered in the spring.

“Simon is a wonderful scholar and community member,” said Dexter Mahaffey, VCS Head of School, “we are delighted to have him recognized for his exceptional academic achievement. We see Simon’s commitment to scholarship every day. His achievements demonstrate what students cite about their Vermont Commons experience – we are an engaged community that cultivates intellectual inquiry and the joy of learning.”

Scholarship. Community. Global Responsibility.

Students emerge from their time at Vermont Commons School intrinsically motivated to seek out their role for improving the world, with the skills and competencies to do so.
