Best VCS Moments

My visitation day was a fantastic experience. I taught two classes, had a roundtable discussion with students, met the faculty, and got a great sense of the school. It was then I knew this would be a great fit!

Interests and Hobbies

Being outdoors hiking, skiing, golfing, snowshoeing. Building things with my hands. Seeing live music, or playing music. Hiking with my wife and our dog. Spending time with my family.

Brief Biography

I grew up outside NYC, and also in London. I attended summer camp as a young lad, which later became a summer job and my introduction to working with young people. Those amazing summer experiences were what led me to education. After college, I spent 25 years in schools, working with students from 3rd to 8th grade. During that time, I found my love for teaching math, which had also been my favorite subject in school. My interests outside of school provided opportunities for myself and my students to investigate other areas including sustainability, design and building, carpentry, music and outdoor adventures. I took a short break from teaching to explore the world of carpentry and high performance building. But my heart has always been in teaching, and I found myself eager to get back to working in a school again. I’m excited to bring my love of working with young people, teaching math, building, music, and outdoor adventure to VCS!
