Corey Wheatley-Starbuck

Brief Biography

Corey Wheatley–Starbuck joined the board of Vermont Commons School to help serve the local Vermont area in expanding educational opportunities. A big believer in the values VCS offers students and passionate for fundraising, Corey is excited to help grow and enable success for VCS for many years to come and is currently a member of the Governance Committee.

Corey grew up in Essex, VT and attended Westminster School in Simsbury, CT for high school. He graduated with a B.S. in Marketing Communication from Emerson College in Boston, MA. Post-graduation, Corey’s professional experience includes 9 years at American Express (New York) where he held a variety of roles from customer service communications, product management, marketing to business development and Chief of Staff to the President of Merchant Services. In November 2021, he joined USAA as the Business and Strategy Planning Director for the Head of Bank Portfolio Management Office after relocating from New York City to Tampa, FL. He has been involved in fundraising for local non-profits, Junior Achievement, and the Stonewall Communication Foundation (former board member).

Corey currently resides with his husband Mike, daughter Harley, and two dogs (Clark and Skibo) in Tampa, FL. He loves to travel and explore new destinations and spend time in Vermont on Lake Champlain with his family during the summer time.
