Vermont Online Library & JSTOR

Vermont Online Library and JSTOR provide access to high quality resources for student research — from newspaper articles to encyclopedias, to scholarly and scientific journal articles — and much more. Students can find everything from discussion of contemporary issues written by experts in their fields, to statistical information, to full text access to hundreds of newspapers, magazines, and journals. These are high quality research materials that have gone through an editorial process before being published – an important difference to what comes up on Google searches.

It is so important to have access to these bodies of information, that go well beyond what is freely and publicly available on the Internet. Being a good and thorough researcher in this information age requires knowing how to make effective use of a wide range of information sources, and these are some of the same resources that students will have access to and be expected to use in college. The Vermont Online Library and JSTOR are essential assets to research at VCS.
