What is the application process for a PG year?
Students applying for a PG year follow the same application process as our full-time applicants. This requires the online application, 3 recommendations, 2 years of report cards, and an in-house assessment.
Can I participate in sports and activities at VCS?
Yes! PG students can participate in all extracurricular activities offered at VCS. This includes but is not limited to athletics, Model UN, student senate, skiing, and theater productions.
Will I receive a Vermont Commons School diploma?
Yes, PG students receive a diploma from Vermont Commons School. Vermont Commons School is accredited by the Association of Independent Schools of New England (AISNE) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and awards a full year of course credits upon completion of a Post Graduate year. Vermont Commons supplies official transcripts to colleges and universities as needed for college applications and thereafter upon request.
Are there homestay options for PG students?
PG students can request to live with a Vermont Commons School host family in the local Burlington area. The family will provide room, board, transportation, and family life for the duration of the semester.
