William Strausser

Brief Biography

Born and raised in Charlotte, William is a Vermont Commons alum (’12) located on unceded Musqueam traditional territory in Vancouver, Canada. Since graduating from VCS, William has earned his BA (Hons) in Asian Studies from the University of British Columbia, where he currently works as a Data Engineer specialized in the processing of academic data to support strategic decision making. With nearly a decade of experience working in higher education, he is passionate about the role that responsible use of technology plays in our educational institutions.

William is fluent in Japanese and has also lived in Osaka, Japan, where he and his wife met and got married. A former radio DJ and record store clerk during his VCS years, he is a lover of eclectic music spanning the musical spectrum.
