Interests and Hobbies

All sports, but tennis and basketball are my favorites, photography, swimming, exploring the outdoors, movies (all kinds but horror), and spending time with family.

Brief Biography

I was born and raised in Vermont, attended Bowdoin College in Maine, and then proceeded to live in various parts of the country and work a few different jobs.  After moving to Washington, DC, I was hired to coach tennis and basketball at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School.  Coaching soon turned into teaching and I realized right away I had found what I was meant to do.  It is an amazing thing to have a role in shaping the growth of a young person, to work with passionate and dedicated colleagues, and to be in an environment where I can continue my own learning journey.  It’s been 15 years since I first stepped in front of a class, and 5 years since my family and I moved back to Vermont and I joined the incredible VCS community.  I love coming to work every day.  Life is good.

Scholarship. Community. Global Responsibility.

Students emerge from their time at Vermont Commons School intrinsically motivated to seek out their role for improving the world, with the skills and competencies to do so.
