Ultimate Frisbee
Combining the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football, Ultimate Frisbee is played by two seven-player squads with a high-tech plastic disc on a field similar to football.
The VCS Ultimate team was founded in 2006. The team won two State Championships (’08,’09) and many of our players go on to play in college. Our alums include one College National Champion (Ian Hollyer, Carleton, 2011).
Our team is coed, grades 6-12, and our competitive teams are broken into High School and Middle School squads. We play teams throughout Vermont and travel to weekend tournaments in New York, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Our season begins in mid- March and usually ends Memorial day weekend. We usually practice 4 days/week (3 days with a coach, one captain’s practice). March practices are indoors and in April we move outdoors to Farrell Park.
We pride ourselves on our ability to compete with anyone but most of all we’re proud of our ability to have fun while upholding the Spirit of the Game.
