ANALIA C ’24 CHOSEN AS SEMI-FINALIST FOR JACK KENT COOKE SCHOLARSHIP

Burlington senior is the only Vermonter selected from record pool of applicants

Vermont Commons School senior Analia Cannon was recently chosen from a record number of applicants as a semi-finalist for the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship. The scholarship, which provides last-dollar funding to supplement any institutional aid, allows recipients to graduate from college with as little debt as possible.

More than 5600 students from more than 3800 different high schools in every state and many U.S. territories applied this year; Analia is the only student from Vermont selected as a semi-finalist. Cooke College Scholars are selected based on exceptional academic ability and achievement, financial need, persistence, service to others, and leadership. Finalists will be chosen in April.

Analia is a top-tier student and a founding member of the Vermont Commons School Social Justice Club. After
graduation, she hopes to continue her studies in biology and mathematics. She resides in Burlington with her
mother.

Scholarship. Community. Global Responsibility.
