Brief Biography
My interest in becoming a counselor began when I was an undergraduate student volunteering at a hospital and working a part-time job in an underprivileged neighborhood. These positions exposed me to children experiencing abuse and other trauma. This led me to pursue a dual degree in Law and Social Work. After completing both programs, I found my strengths and passion lay not in prosecuting these crimes but in counseling and advocating for the children experiencing them. I have over eighteen years of experience as a counselor, including experience in case management, crisis intervention, education, training and administration. Through positions in urban, rural, public and private settings, I have used my counseling skills to support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, those coping with great loss, anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges as well as stress management. I feel honored to be joining and bringing these skills and experiences to the wonderful community at Vermont Commons School.
