Interim Coordinator of College Admissions Counseling for the 2017-18 Academic Year
We are currently seeking a college counselor to coordinate the college admissions team at Vermont Commons School, Burlington’s college preparatory school.  The Interim Coordinator will oversee a team of colleagues who, respectively, manage standardized tests, college application essays, and the Naviance online application file management tool in support of the application and admissions process of our high school senior class.  The Interim Coordinator also coordinates the groundwork with the Junior class for their upcoming application year.

Every Vermont Commons School senior matriculates into college or university, typically at the most competitive institutions in the country.  The college counselor is responsible for supporting and shepherding each of our seniors through the rigorous college application process to successful admission to an institution best matching each senior’s unique abilities and interests.  We typically enroll approximately fifteen seniors each year.  Of particular interest are applicants who have worked in college counseling in other private schools or in college admissions offices.  Connections with current college admission offices and their staff for the Vermont or New England region are significant assets for any applicant.

This part-time position has flexible hours and, upon successful completion of the 2017-18, may be eligible for conversion to non-interim, ongoing employment status.  Bachelors degree required;  Master degree preferred.  Minimum three years of relevant experience preferred.

Please submit cover letter, resume/CV, and three recent professional employment references to employment@vermontcommons.org.  Position open until filled;  starting date in early August 2017.
