A Message for New Families Interested in Volleyball

volleyball ballThe Vermont Commons Flying Turtles Volleyball team is hoping to introduce you to the sport of volleyball, VCS’ sports culture, and a lot of other VCS students & teachers. Our volleyball team is co-ed, and includes seventh through twelfth graders. Our practices run after school, September – November. We also run a week of practices before the first day of school, a great way to get to know many of your classmates. Volleyball is a new sport to Vermont, and VCS has led the way for more than a decade. We do not make athletic ‘cuts’, and recognize that many families have transportation conflicts with practices. Last year, more than a third of the school played on the team, with a dozen players new to VCS! We assume you have little to no experience in volleyball, and hope that you just come out and give it a try. Vermont Commons is also the founding school of the Vermont Youth Volleyball Association (see links below), which promotes and runs events during the summer. Please contact Coach Peter Goff (pgoff@vermontcommons.org) with any questions…looking forward to seeing you on the court!
